Overview

An alpine MTB trail near Las Vegas is a rare find. While relatively short, it's big on scenery and fresh mountain air.

Description

Bristlecone Loop starts with a smooth dirt fire road ascent for the first 3 miles. The climbing is steady but the grade slight, enjoyable.... At the junction with the Bonanza Trail (No MTB's), Bristlecone Loop turns to singletrack. The trail alternates between smooth loamy to smooth hardpack to rocky limestone outcroppings.

Parking is facilitated from the top for the Upper Bristlecone Trail at the Las Vegas Ski & Snowboard Resort and the Lower Bristlecone Trail trailhead on Scout Canyon Rd off Lee Canyon Rd.

Stay on the alert for hikers as this is a very popular hiking trail as well!

The intersection between Bristlecone Loop and the longer Bonanza Trail. Approx. 9000' in elevation. Extremely arduous bike ride that ripped apart my thigh muscles.
