Description

The Charlton Trail runs from Lemish Lake Trail to the Metolius/Windigo Trail, the main access is from the Lemish Lake Trail.

It's an excellent varied terrain out and back forest trail that can also be ridden as a loop via the Lemish & Charlton Lakes Loop Trail. Other options are to shorten the ride by looping out on the Clover Meadow Trail or even making a figure 8 combining all 3 trails.

The trail has a couple of very short advanced sections that are easily walk-able and one small meadow that holds a secret just under it's soft peddled plant life. As you rip down an enjoyable winding trail the trees open up to a small low clearing with bowling ball sized lava chunks hiding just below the greenery. It would be wise to be looking for this and slowing down. Other than that, there are really no surprises, just good ol' MTBing fun.

Lots of good downhill. Some steep technical spots and I may have crashed in a patch of silty, sandy, goodness...
