The climbing can be stiff at times as trail 583 climbs over 1000 vertical feet in 2 miles where it eventually connects with 582.1A and Trail 400 (Star Pass). 80-90% of the trail is above treeline as it climbs up over 12,000ft. Bring your lungs and enjoy the views.
