This mix-use trail (pedestrian and bike) begins off Highway 101 in a hard to find spot. If you are heading south, you'll pass the Damnation Creek trailhead first and then quickly come upon this trailhead. There is very limited parking.
This trail is the old highway and you can still see pavement in a lot of places, but there are many sections where it is only 16" wide.
The trail starts as doubletrack and then narrows up and will be pretty brushy in the middle and then the trail will widen out at the end. This section of trail sees very little use and is an amazing way to experience the redwoods.
The last descent is very steep and loose so hold on to your pants. Right near the end, watch your speed since you'll now be on a popular hiking trail.
