- Trails should not be used during wet weather, or when the trail is soft or muddy.
- Trails are open if the trail is firm and the surface will not be disturbed by foot or bike travel.
- PLEASE be patient if the trail isn't ready... allow the trail to dry before riding.
- Trails are typically too wet to ride for 18-24 hours after a significant rainfall.
- Riding wet trails damages the trail by creating ruts that increase erosion.

Overview

A local favorite and home to the annual Snotcycle and Hotcycle races, Freedom Center is a fun course offering tough climbs, fast downhills and a good mix of technical and flowy singletrack.

Freedom Center also has a pump track at the trailhead.

Lots of solitude here, saw only 2 other riders when I went.

The trails are well marked/blazed and there are a few maps throughout the trails.

Description

Parking is just off the entrance in some gravel along the paved driveway.

I'd start by taking the Perimeter Loop (red) clockwise from the parking lot. If you are in the parking lot looking south, the Perimeter Loop (red) starts on your left (east) side. You can also see the pump track just off to your right (southwest) and you can connect to the Perimeter Loop (red) trail from there.

Ride this until you get to the Z Trail (Purple) and take this short loop to add distance to your ride. The Z Trail spits you back on to the Perimeter Loop. Continue clockwise. Soon after you'll turn onto the FSM Trail (Yellow). You don't want to miss this section. The FSM Trail (Yellow) then connect back to the Perimeter Loop. Continue clockwise. Next, take a left on Pete's Peak (Orange), a short climb and then left on the Perimeter Loop (red), or continue on the Perimeter Loop, until you get to the Slopes Trail (Blue) on your right.

Turn right onto the Slopes Trail (Blue). This a great section with a long downhill stint, short climb back up and another shorter downhill section. You'll want to jump off the Slopes Trail (Blue) at Connector #4 and get on back on the Perimeter Loop continuing clockwise. Follow the signs for the bike trail. After a short climb you'll see the Big Dog Trail (pink) on your right (if you continue straight on the Perimeter Loop (red) you'll go back to the parking lot), take this short downhill back down and you'll see a few building on your left at the bottom. Diagonally off to your right you'll see where the Slopes Trail (blue) is. There is a lower and upper section. You came out of the upper section to connect to Connector #4 and the Perimeter Loop. Take the lower Slopes Trail (blue) down along the creek (on your left). The Slopes trail ends at the bottom of the pond/lake.

You have several options here.
-You can take Connector #3 to the Perimeter Loop (red) and
a) turn left on the Perimeter Loop (red) to get back to the parking lot or
b) turn right on the Perimeter Loop (red) to start everything all over again.
- You can take Connector #1 to the right and get to the pump track and parking lot.
- You can take the Connector #1 trail counterclockwise around the pond/lake and then get back on the Slopes Trail (turn right) and then do the whole ride in reverse!
a) Alternate, you can also just turn around at the end of the Slopes Trail (blue) and skip Connector #1, this is what I recommend, then ride what you just did in rever

Singletrack facing counterclockwise direction on the left. As you can see here leaves everywhere made for a good challenge on locating the trail during most of the ride. Did think the mushrooms on the log stump were cool though!
