Need to Know

Downhill connector was designed to separate mountain bikers and hikers/dog walkers in Post Falls Community Forest. The latter should utilize the road from the upper lot to access the lower park/forest, while bikes should use connector to descend (OK to use road to climb to upper lot from bottom/river level).

Description

Accessed from the Upper Q'emiln parking lot, take the first doubletrack to the right about 100 feet down, go east through a wash for about 150 feet, then turn left and start heading downhill. You'll cross a cut-out hiking trail, then roughly 25 feet further you'll start to see the trail winding downhill.

Two section are very steep, but both have been ridden in and are rideable, as long as you stay off the front brake! Walk the lower steep section, nicknamed "the washboard" for its loose native slates, if you like.

The trail connects to the doubletrack near the bottom of the park, and from there you can access the Lower Q MTB/CX Loop and other doubletrack routes.
