Need to Know

Wisconsin State Park Pass needed if you are getting there by vehicle. Trail pass is NOT needed for this trail. Camping and bike rentals also available at this site. There is also paved road around and through the park as well. There are trail markers along the way as well as points of interest to stop at.

Description

A very fun trail to ride in the morning when the park opens. Very few to no one is on the trail yet. This trail was biked two days to get this route. I saw several deer, turkeys, and other wildlife during my rides. The trail is challenging at times, and others it is just nice to take in the scenery. The trail is mostly all tree-covered and crosses the main road a few times.

The bike trail also overlaps a lot with the cross country ski trail. There are signs posted on the trees indicating what trail you are on. If you see a bike or cross country ski sign, you are on the right trail. There are some trees that only had the cross country ski sign, but a few more trees down the bike sign was displayed as well.

If you cross trails or continue on a trail that bike traffic is not allowed, there will be a no bike sign. My first time around this trail, I missed a chunk of the trail on the northwest side of the trail. The second day that I did the trail, I got all the trail. There are some other sections that were not recorded; these sections were to loop back and do the same loop again.

This is very fun trail and nice to just take in nature with all the trees and wildlife. There is no real "start" point for this trail. I parked at the park shop parking lot and took a trail entrance just up the road a bit (back towards the entrance).

A few steep inclines, overall a pretty clear trail until a torrential down pour! Even with the massive rain the trails were rideable and fun!
