Description

From the rifugio Colma del Piano at Strada Provincial (Provincial Road) SP44, this route follows the Dorsale del Triangolo Lario (Crest of the Lario Triangle Peninsula).

The first 2.5 miles are relatively calm hovering around 1200 m (4000 ft). Then you'll reach the Colma del Bosco (Pass) below Monte Cornet and the real climbing begins.

From here, it's nearly 450 m (1500 ft) to the peak of Monte San Primo in just under 2.5 miles. Needless to say, the climb is difficult, particularly near the end but the reward is a 360° view from the peak of Monte San Primo, which is the highest point in the Lario Peninsula.

The Dorsale del Triangolo Lario (Crest of the Lario Triangle Peninsula) continues north on DTL: Bikepark Monte San Primo Downhill from this trail at about the 3.8-mile mark, just after you complete one of the big climbs near Monte Ponciv. A short (100 yard) hike-a-bike may be necessary to the top of this ridge as the trail was little washed out. But at the top of the ridge, and incredible view of Bellagio and the three legs of Lago di Como (Lake) lies below you.
