Overview

Nestled within a 100-acre park, the trails at Bellevue Memorial take advantage of the slopes that drain into the Jack's Run Watershed. The terrain is an undulating mix of steep and mellow and the trail network makes good use of that.

The upside are trails that ride like a roller coaster. The flip side are many technical challenges in a small space. To get the most of of your visit, ride one lap counter clockwise, then reverse. If you can do a third lap, you should be racing!

Need to Know

The trail drains well most of the year. Spring thaw can be challenging and the park should be avoided then. You can park in the Pool lot, near the tennis courts or at the bottom of the park on Jack's Run Road.

Scholl's Bike Shop is nearby in West View. Be alert for hikers and trail runners on some of the trail with limited sight distances.

Description

Start on Squirrel Trail and at the end make a right to cross a dry ravine to Falcon Trail. Falcon Trail is a long (for this park) climb and then descent back to the start of Falcon. Cross the ravine and proceed right down Coyote Trail. About halfway on Coyote make left at the junction with Deer Trail and a left, again, up Deer Trail to Chipmunk Trail.

At the top of Chipmunk’s climb, you’ll be back to the pool lot. Proceed to your right to Salamander Trail. This trail has three segments on the same hill. At one point, you'll see access to Deer Trail, but for the first lap stay left to complete Salamander. Turn right at the end of Salamander and right again on Deer Trail.

Take Deer Trail back to the Coyote Trail junction and make a left to complete Coyote Trail. Turn left at the end of Coyote and climb Deer Trail (its gravelly at this point) until you get to Jack’s Run.

Make a right on Jack's Run util you get to Deer Trail again. At that point, you’ve made a complete lap. Start back onto Coyote Trail in reverse and ride clockwise in reverse, or mix it up.

Tried out a local trail. New to the downhill mtb world, so I don't think I have enough of a sample size for much of a review. 7mi — 1h 00m
