Description
This route is by far the best trail in the East Fork State Park when it comes to views. While you can see plenty from the trail, a multitude of spur trails and game trails that lead to water's edge, where you'll be able to take in the scenic lake and the wildlife in the area. If you're not too loud or boisterous, you may catch a heron feeding by the shores.
Use the Hopewell Trail main trailhead, or alternately use the East trailhead for the Hopewell Trail, or use the East trailhead for the Backpacking Trail, or also use the Lake Trail Eastern Trailhead to gain access to this trail. The trail is centrally located, so all of these trailheads will lead you to this great trail.
The latter three options are available from Park Road 3.
The trail was in great shape. There are more trails heading east from here.
