Description
El Baviso starts and finishes at a good sized Jito tree just south of the private airstrip. Ride on a gravel road for a few hundred meters towards the west. Ride down and up the first arroyo and you come to a ranch. The are a few dogs that may chase you at this ranch, but they are friendly when you're off a bicycle. If they chase, it is only for a little more than 100 meters. The singletrack begins just past the ranch.
El Baviso is about 70% singletrack. Horses with riders use this trail, but I seldom encounter them when I ride. Parts of the southeast section have had ATV usage, so the trail might be a bit chewed up in this extent.
Once on the singletrack, this trail is easy to follow. It has reflective tape on rocks and branches. El Baviso is good for a night ride - especially near a full moon.
The second arroyo 2 Km from the finish can be challenging.
El Baviso is generally ridden clockwise. It is generally gentle uphill for the first half, and gentle downhill for the last half. The second half is fast and fun - limited only by traction on the many turns and a couple sandy areas.
