Description

Most people will shuttle out from town. But if you are riding all the way, this trail segment allows you to jump into the Behind The Rocks trail system without having to pedal narrow shoulders with semi-truck traffic up the final steep highway hill out of Spanish Valley.

That being said, this is not a very rideable connector. It starts out fine, but quickly turns into a quite steep, sandy and relentless jeep trail through the broken cliff band, with jeep-scale ledges that will require pushing.

Fortunately, it's not far at all to the top of the cliffs, where you rejoin moderate, very rideable graded road. Turn left and continue to the Behind The Rocks road, or turn right and join the 24-Hours of Moab racecourse, Two Arches, or the Tiptoe Behind the Rocks jeep route, including High Dive Canyon and White Knuckle Hill.
