Description

This is a steep downhill return to the bottom of Sugar Camp Hollow from the gravel road section of the Porterfield Hollow Trail. Take the left fork at the top of the hill if riding the Porterfield Hollow trail counter-clockwise according to the directions or right if riding clockwise.

The is an old logging road that is wide, but with deep gullies, loose gravel, and water bars that make it challenging and require picking a good line to ride on. After several steep descents, it enters a dirt singletrack downhill with thorny locust trees that require maintenance.

This trail is called the Bonebreaker because of a high incidence of injuries on it in the past so caution is advised. It is too seep for most riders ride uphill so only downhill riding is recommended. At the bottom of the hill it rejoins the Porterfield Hollow trail where a right turn will lead to a stream crossing and return to the cabin on the Sugar Camp Hollow Trail.
