Description

Providing great access to Iron Mountain, this trail can be used to connect loops and ridden in either direction. On the Iron Mountain end of the trail (as laid out on this map), Beech Grove starts from on one end of Feathercamp Ridge at approximately 2830 ft. The descent from that point drops over 600 ft. to Hwy 58 and the VA Creeper Trails Straight Branch parking lot.

The upper portion of the trail contains tight switchbacks and some bench cut sections. When the trail starts to straighten out, it is an all out rip down through a wider trail. This lower section has rocky sections ranging from from gravel to baby heads to slabs, and wet sections that range from muddy seeps to actual stream beds flowing down the trail.

Awesome downhill, technical in some spots with quite a few washouts, steep switchbacks and rock gardens but a ton of fun going down. 1mi
