You can park for free at the North Branch Nature Center and ride the main road (Rte 12 north, then a right on Gold Hill rd) to this trailhead - roughly a 10/15 minute uphill ride depending how much skip you have in your step. At the trailhead there is a post that says "North Branch Trail" and an up arrow. It looks like a jeep trail for about 100 yards.

Take it, quickly cross a bridge and take a sharp right on to the singletrack. The trail wanders upward, over the occasional roots and rocks (slippery when wet). Easy to follow up to where it tees on Sparrow Farm trail. Once there, the NBNC and MAMBA does a FANTASTIC job maintaining the trails and marking intersections with maps. You can also use this trail as an quick downhill out, but it's more fun to use the longer more interesting trails to the south. No jumps, berms, or other features.
