Need to Know
Meyer's Flyer is designed to be ridden at very high trail speeds. I would highly reccomend pre-riding the trail first before riding at full speed. All of the jumps and the drop has alternate lines you can take, and none of the jumps have gaps that you have to clear. Many of the table tops have a slight dip in the middle, so the landings can be a bit harsh if you ride at a half-hearted trail speed. The ideal way to ride this trail is to carry enough speed throughout the trail by landing on the backside of each jump. PLEASE DO NOT RIDE if their is enough water saturation on the trail to cause damage to the jumps or trail itself!
Description
Dedicated to Gary L Meyers, an influential figure in the motocross and a bad ass mountain bike racer, winning multiple US National and World Masters Championships in the 1990s. He was a huge cycling advocate and former owner of Fay Myers Motorcycle World. This trail built by Flow Ride Concepts, beautifully sculpted this trail in a style that memorialized Gary's legacy in the most fitting way.
The trail starts out at the very top of
Buttermilk Peak and follows a very fast-paced, buffed-out, 8-10 foot wide trail through a series of motocross-style jumps. The majority of the jumps are table tops with a few step-up and step-down features. There is also an elevated flyover where the trail intersects
Morning Star. After crossing the flyover, you continue descending down Lower Myers Flyer with a couple of step-ups, an optional 10' drop, and a high-speed descent down to the largest tabletop jumps at the park! You then pedal your way up the slight grade reversal to merge with
Drop Shaft.
