Description
Park across the road in the pull-offe. Climb over the guard rail, then down into the creek, and then climb up the ladder. Hike up the road from there to Hays Wall (a climbing wall). This is the start of the trail.
This trail has the steepest and longest drop in the park. With a steady climb north, go up the trail all the way to the top. Turn right (east) and head towards the power line tower. Before the power line, head left up the hill. Follow the trail for a half mile, and then turn right (south) at the T. Now follow the trail shortly before it drops off very steeply into two banked turns. Then it winds down the mountain with more intensity. It joins the Glass Run
Connector trail, where you can continue the very steep descent. Or you can head right (west) and follow the trail through the woods, down into a creek bed, and then back to the starting point.
This trail is not used often, so be sure to scout it beforehand. There may be ruts from motorcycles, downed trees, rocks, and other unexpected hazards.
