The trail has mile markers posted at each mile.

The trail starts at a new trailhead off of Memory Lane (off Settlement Canyon Road) just north of Settlement Canyon Reservoir. The trail switchbacks and climbs the foothills east of the Reservoir. The trail is wide and machine-cut, but does not appear to have been compacted. The horse hoofs have post holed it pretty bad (as of Summer 2025). There are quite a few loose cobble and rocks on the trail. The trail does not appear to be very well used as there are lots of weeds along the trail. The trail has potential but it could definitely use more traffic and some good trail maintenance.
