Need to Know
Arrange your visit in advance! Dan (931)871-8948. There is a good chance I will ride guide with you if you are interested.
Follow signs to 'Outdoors in the Smokies' and subsequent signs for 'Jeep Trails Check in'. Drive past the pavilion and park in the grass area(s) across from the portables. There are no fees associated with this facility, but donations are accepted but not expected. Portables available for use. Pavilion, picnic tables, grill for use. Clean up and be respectful, please. To minimize critter problems, there are no trash cans on site, pack it in, pack it out.
Description
A private facility that is groomed and maintained. NOT a casual ride. Best suited to serious XC riders/racers who come with fitness. Numerous low-end torque climbs, about a million switchbacks on the wooded mountainous terrain, incredible views into the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and the Cherokee National Forest.
As noted in summary, fit riders have a blast, others... maybe, not so much. Every inch of the facility is rideable if you have the legs for it. Steep and fast descents offer welcome relief and fun after stout, leg-burning climbs. There are a handful of mild drop-in features (with opt outs) for fun, and it even has 1/4 of gravel road in there. The trail is marked with MTB icons and arrow signs. It does cross over a few Jeep trails, but between the arrow markers and flow of the rider, the trail is evident and makes sense.
The owner is an avid rider and will be a ride guide if the guest is interested.
