Need to Know

The annoying part of riding this trail is that each end is so far away from each other, and there is no easy way to connect them in any sort of loop (it's possible but extremely difficult). The most practical way is to pick an end, and do an out and back. Access to the top (NW) end of the trail is done via the Tizer Basin loop Trail #4032. Access to the bottom (SE) end is via Cold Springs Road, off Crow Creek Road. There are also 2 other access points in the middle of the trail, with the more popular one being off Crow Creek Road.

Description

As per the name, this trail follows the bank of the crow creek. It is a backcountry trail that has a variable trail surface, and travels over a variety of different terrains. Overall it is a difficult trail to mountain bike because of rocks, stream crossings and steep sections of hike-a-bike. In saying that, a large percentage of this trail is rideable and those that choose to embark on a Crow Creek adventure will be rewarded with beautiful scenery and sections of really cool riding. The highlight of the trail is a visit to Crow Creek Falls which are extremely picturesque and have a swimming hole at the bottom.

Notable trail features (mileage given from the bottom, southeast end):
0.0 - Trail starts out as doubletrack, but turns to singletrack after going up and over a short but steep hill. Trail follows the river bed.
3.7 - Crosses Weasel Creek Rd - alternative access, but not a trailhead.
5.0 - Joins up with a small section of Eagle Interpretive Trail
5.7 - Passes the Crow Creek Jump Off Trail, a popular access point. Trail becomes quite rocky and challenging after this.
6.9 - Junction with Long Park Trail - Trail becomes old doubletrack and is much easier
7.7 - Junction with Falls Creek Trail
8.0 - Access to Crow Creek Falls - the trail highlight. After this point the trail drops switchbacks down a short steep rocky bank, but then cruises along the bottom of the impressive rocky canyon where for almost 2 miles the trail is mostly intermediate in difficulty.
10.0 - The real climb up to Tizer Basin begins. If you are going uphill be prepared to be on and off your bike due to the gradient. This section would be really fun to ride downhill.
10.2 - A cool rock slab outcropping for a viewpoint and rest stop
10.5 - for the last mile the trail traverses across some very steep slopes that end in a drop into the creek canyon. It is extremely cool, but it could make some riders nervous.
