This is a non-motorized doubletrack that is most often used as a walking trail by people who want to visit Storm Lake, but don't have a suitable vehicle for navigating the last mile of Storm Lake Road which is steep, rocky and often rutted. There is a parking area at the bottom of the trail, and overflow parking is possible on the roadside.

The trail is 100% rideable on a mountain bike, however there are some sections that are steep and rocky that some riders will have to push their bikes up. Descending the trail is relatively easy for intermediate riders, and there are enough rock obstacles to make it interesting for advanced riders with some speed.
