Overview

Experience some of the best singletrack in BV on this loop. With minimal elevation gain & smooth, flowy singletrack, it's a great option for younger riders & riders looking to build their confidence. A few short technical sections keep things spicy, as well as the option of adding Unchained for an epic loop.

Description

Starting at the parking area on CR304, above the Collegiate Peaks Overlook (Midland TH), head east on CR376a for about a tenth of a mile until you reach Midland Bike Trail. Within another tenth of a mile, you'll make a left onto Sausage Link. Enjoy nearly 2 miles of sweet singletrack before reaching CR376a once again. It's just a short stint of gravel before you'll veer right (still Sausage Link), connecting to Bacon Bits (1450A). Enjoy another 1.75 miles of singletrack before connecting back with Midland Bike Trail. If you're feeling daring & want some technical riding, continue on to Unchained (subject to seasonal closures 12/1 - 4/15). If you're looking to keep the flavor the same, head west on Midland Bike Trail & enjoy 2.5 miles of railroad grade trail back to the parking lot.

History & Background

The Midland Bike Trail follows the old Colorado Midland Railway, which ran from the late 1800s to early 1900s, connecting Colorado Springs to Leadville & Aspen.
