Need to Know

This area used to be an informal dump, so be aware of old trash and some broken glass here and there.

Description

This segment of the Rolling Blackout trail rolls below the Temple Mesa caprock, with tech spots, drops, seasonal waterfalls(!), and a wee bit of exposure. Test your skills and enjoy the views on this amazing trail.

Rolling Blackout took nearly two years to build. The numerous spots where water crosses the trail require sustainable construction practices like rock tile sections, which also happen to be fun to ride.

The last part of trail is a half-mile of descending with rock drops, tight switchbacks, and some tech. There is an alternate line at the most serious drop, marked with a sign. Enjoy this final puzzle piece of the Electric Hills Trail System, another excellent piece of work by volunteers and Sweet and Sustainable Singletrack LLC.
