Need to Know

Expect a bit of hike-a-bike and dabbing, but it's an overall better approach into Copper Canyon.

Description

Copper Canyon Trail #10A extends from the ridgeline along North Baldy Trail #8 to Copper Canyon Trail #10 just above the cabin. It bypasses the steep switchbacks at the top of Trail #10 and in general has a less steep grade into the canyon.

The trail tread is narrow and a bit unstable, but the route is clear and adds up to a fun ride when combined with Trail 8 and 10. The tread consists mostly of crushed rock and is flanked by oak bushes and ponderosa pines, though it also crosses a scree slop in two locations. The views from the ridgeline are expansive.
