Need to Know

Restroms at the trailhead parking, but no water so fill up before hand. Zero shade and can get brutally hot in the summer mid day.

Description

This is a doubletrack dirt road that leads you from the parking lot to the base of the climb heading up towards split rock loop. It can be very sandy in the dry months in the summer. It is often used as a quasi quick downhill back to the parking lot if something comes up and you need to get back home quickly. It can also serve as a detour around larger herds of Bison if they are chilling out on the white rock loop trail.

Climbing it can be a bit of a sandy climb in the summer.

Most local riders vastly prefer to ride up White Rock Loop (either direction) rather than climb this dirt road.
