Description
The European Mountain Bike Championships in 2009 and Dutch Championships in 2010 were both held in Zoetermeer, near the famous Snowworld and the Ayers Rock climbing wall.
A medium track for the advanced and challenging for recreational riders. For the advanced rider, such a track will offer little technical challenge, nevertheless there are some tough climbs to be found. Challenge must be found in achieving the fastest lap. It is a beautiful area with many bends, peaks and valleys.
By Dutch standards, it is a mountainous terrain several kilometers long. It is a fairly open area, so cycling is difficult, especially with wind. Recently, the municipality of Zoetermeer has given approval to adjust the mountain bike route. This means more kilometers and a challenge, also for the advanced rider.
Moderately steep. Uneven terrain with small rocks or roots.
Sizable rocks & roots. Steep sections.
Steep. Some technical terrain and limited alternate lines.
Very steep. Technical terrain with no alternate lines.
