Description

Hemlock Falls descends from the West Boundary Ridge Road to Polly Hollow, out-letting almost directly across from the beginning of Beech Glen. To access it, at the top of Portercamp Road / Old Boundary Ridge Road, turn right and from the top of Polly Hollow, turn left and follow the road. The top third of the trail is narrow singletrack. It is not too technical, but there is some exposure on the left side as you descend where the trail crosses a drainage. There is a small waterfall in this area too, but it typically only runs during rainy periods.

After the initial section of singletrack, the remaining two-thirds of the trail follows an old mining or gas well access road and the grade mellows until a short, steeper pitch at the bottom. Proper drainage was not of much concern to those who cut in this road, so it is typically wet and muddy, even during dry periods.
