Need to Know
There is a large open space for parking and stores that sell water and other hydration. The locals use motorized tricycles to carry you to the trailhead.
Description
Starts inside a slightly dark, forested section of the trail with sizable roots of adult dipterocarp trees. The trail is flowy with small drops from buttress roots and leaf litter that hides a bevy of surprises, from small rocks to roots or holes. Be ready to skid.
Halfway down are rocks the size of basketballs that you can thread around or mow down.
Upon exiting the forested section, you'll encounter loose hardpack sand with braking bumps. Along three fourths of the trail, you'll encounter small boulders that will test your balance and line choice. Be ready for pedal strikes and a surgical precision to thread a smooth light.
The rest of the way is fast and flowy hardpack. The last hundred meters you'll encounter low hanging branches, so look ahead. There is also a perimeter fence made of barbed wire on your right when you exit along a paved road.
