“A short workout with moderate climbs and well-timed downhills, and a good mix of flow and technical elements.
”
One Way Only: This is designated as a directional trail.
Description
Bacon Hill offers two mountain biking loop trails, one within the other (and sharing parts of its bigger brother). Big Bacon starts with a gentle climb and as it meanders through the woods it gets your heart prepped for a good ride.
When Little Bacon splits off, riders are in the short stretch known as "The Playground". A few fun berms and tabletops, along with a side spur to the right that makes the climb out a bit easier, make this section session worthy.
From here, the trail continues a meandering climb to an old road. The road continues up for a little ways and the trail splits off back into the woods, for a nice downhill reprieve from all of the climbing. Be sure to check your speed and get ready for a sharp turn back into a meandering climb, a bit steeper than most parts as of yet.
The rest of the trail winds through the forest with punchy climbs, swoopy berms and a little bit of technicality sprinkled throughout. A section along the highest part of the trail also has some of the most technical features including one chain buster of a shark fin rock that stops most riders in their tracks.
There are plenty of fun, well-placed rocks along this stretch to catch some air off of if thats what riders are looking for. The trail ends after a satisfying downhill back where it started.
