Nearby Smithville, Texas has fuel, lodging, shopping, and dining opportunities. Also, there is a convenience store about a mile up the road toward Paige at the Lake Thunderbird sub-division.
Buescher State Park is between Rocky Hill Ranch and Smithville.
Description
This loop includes old favorites and new sections. There have been a lot of changes and more are on the way. Berms are popping up everywhere to add flow as you ride the route.
Riders will be challenged with punchy and extended climbs, fun downhill sections, and the thrills that weaving through the trees always brings.
History & Background
RHR is the second-oldest Mountain Bike Ranch in Texas and has been a popular destination for nearly thirty years.
In late 2021 a makeover of RHR began after a land sale reduced the size of the trail system.
As of December 2022 there is now a loop of ~15 miles, as well as a few miles of ranch roads to ride. More new trail is being created.
Riders have consistently commented that this Rocky Hill makeover has made the riding better than it has ever been with more challenges, an easy to follow loop, and new signs for identifying trails, roads, and the quickest way back to the parking lot.
