There is an area about 100 yards from the trail start that floods and can be very wet for sometime after rains. Give a few days after rain, or expect to get wet/muddy.

Need to Know

Parking is free, but the lot is small and on nice days it can fill up. Hunting is permitted on the state lands so it is wise to wear bright colors in hunting seasons.

Description

From the parking lot, there is a short downhill section to get your legs started for the ride down to the lake. There are some fast downhill sections that lead to a bridge that is less than ideal for riding over quickly, but can be cleared if you take it easy.

After the bridge, there are some ups and downs before popping out into an area that must have been hit by very strong winds at some point, many trees knocked down and some had to be cut out to clear the trail.

After that section, there is some downhill to another bridge that is part of the west end of the lake "swamp bypass." On the way down that hill, there is a small root ball that makes a nice kicker!
