Joel Branch Rd. FS5002, is a semi-maintained forest road that terminates at Stony Knob Trail, which provide access to Horse Cove Rd. 475C.

It begins as a rather rough, large diameter (4-5 inch) stone path and turns into a grassy doubletrack forest road after about the first mile until it terminates at Stony Knob Trail. It may be heavily overgrown with grass/weeds during the warmer months.

Go to the top of Pine Mountain Trial (paved street, Brevard) right on Hawks Trail, there is a trail that will take you up to Joel Branch Rd.
