Description
This trail is the upper part of an old military road, connecting the houses of Prada (elev.900m) with the fortress "Forte Naole" (1.650m).
Starting at the parking lot at the end of the paved public road ("Cima Mandra" elev. 1.295m), this trail continues the road towards Monte Baldo. The first steeper part is paved by concrete. At a fork, stay right. The ground is gravelly or rocky, but the ascent is moderate.
Leaving the forest, there is a junction (elev. 1.550m). The
Rifugio Fiori del Baldo Dirt Road (Connector) straight ahead leads to the alpine huts at the ridge of Monte Baldo.
This old trail turns right, crosses a ridge and goes down to a hidden valley. In World War One, "Forte Naole" (elev. 1.650m) was built in the flat upper end of this little valley. Now some of the old military buildings are used by sheep and cows and the old road by the cars of the shepherds.
