Need to Know

The trail markers (red) and signs for this trail on the ground call it the Red Trail, but the online map and the one posted at the trailheads label it as the Orange Trail.

Description

The Red Trail is routed around inside of the Blue Trail loop. It drops off the edge of the upper flat area just to get in a small bit of climbing on the way back up.

Like most of the other trails at Smith Lake, the trail tread is mostly packed sand with a slight covering of pine needles. The curves are tight and you may find the soil a little loose if you're going fast.
