Need to Know

Watch traffic at all intersections along Atrisco Dr.

Do not try to cut or wander from this route as it is necessary to reach the elevated pedestrian bridge.

Watch for walkers on the bridges and be aware that these walking paths may be dangerous after dark.

This connector passes a Walmart near it's northwestern extent, if you are using it for a longer, bigger ride this can be a good place to get water.

Description

A simple paved connector which crosses the Rio Grande allowing access from East to West over the I-40 bridge.

This route is safely separated from traffic on a raise pedestrian path and pedestrian bridge over and around I-40.

Once the route exits the pedestrian bridge and heads south on Atrisco Dr. there is a dedicated bike lane which heads down a large hill thereby minimizing the time spent in any kind of traffic.

A turn down an easily missed road (Riverview PL NW) must be made on the left and a trailhead appears at the end of this short road to allow you to get back on the dirt singletrack on the WEST side of the Bosque continuing south.
