Description

Almost all of the trail follows a small creek through aspen groves and stands of fir and spruce. After about 1.8 miles, the trail meets up with the Desolation Trail.

The journey to Desolation Lake is not as popular as some others in the area. The lake itself isn't very large or incredibly picturesque, but it is quiet and is a good place to relax before heading back down.

Keep an eye out for moose and the occasional deer all along the trail; I have run into three moose here when rounding a corner, so be aware of your surroundings!
