“Fun up and down loop with old oak tree at the top.
”
Trail starts just behind the west shelter. This shelter, as well as the east shelter, was built by the CCC after the Great Depression.
The trail starts off with a steep climb that mellows out pretty quick and drops slightly before continuing up to the first intersection. Go right and past the old oak before coming to the next intersection and take another right.
The trail traverses the hillside before heading down towards the old park office. At the bottom, continue right again to follow the lower route back to the west shelter.
