Three Rivers Park District does not maintain regional trails in the winter. Cities along each trail have the option to maintain the trail for winter activities.

From the south shore of Lake Nokomis, this trail when complete will connect the Minneapolis Grand Rounds Scenic Byway System with the Minnesota River. Passing through the cities of Richfield and Bloomington along Old Cedar Avenue, it offers connections to the Nine Mile Creek Regional Trail, regional and national retail destinations, and to the Minnesota River Valley National Wildlife Refuge, Fort Snelling State Park and the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.
