Park at the Shawnee Lodge, ride your bike towards the entrance of the cabin area/fire pit. The trail entrance is to the left of the wooden swing/ fire pit, across the grassy knoll. This is a mountain bike specific trail, hikers are welcome but please yield to bike traffic. Restrooms and water are located in Shawnee Lodge. Please try to be courteous not to track mud into the lodge. After ride beverages and food can be found in the lodge at "The Smokehouse" restaurant.

This is the newest addition to the SOMBA/Shawnee trail system. Horseshoe can be ridden in both directions, depending on what type of experience you are searching for. Clockwise will provide you with fast descents and counter clockwise will provide you with some climbing. Horseshoe also provides you with access to a connector trail that takes you to the 1.5 mile multi-use trail Lampblack. As with all trails in this system, any features have a ride around option.
