Overview

Ride up the west side of Mica Peak to just below the Dome and the head east to drop into Liberty Lake.

Need to Know

If you do the point to point you'll need a ride/vehicle at the other end. This route goes from the Belmont Trailhead to Liberty Lake County Park.

Description

Head out from the Belmont Trailhead up through the DNR to MPCA, follow MPCA past the power lines, then take Granny Gear to you left. After a steep doubletrack, continue until after a creek crossing. The Spine switchback trail will be on you right.

Once at the top of the trail, you'll find an old road bed that continues up the steep trail a couple hundred feet before heading east on Mica to Liberty Lake (another old roadbed toward Liberty Lake). You'll enjoy some views as you make your way to Liberty Lake Loop Trail and then the Edith Hansen Trail and down into the park.
