This trail is shared with 4x4 vehicles, although it's unlikely you'll see more than one during your ride. There is NO cellphone reception in this area, so let someone know where you're going and when you should be back. Try to ride in groups.

Description

This trail starts from the termination of the Valley Access Road, and brings you further into the wilderness of the Borgarfjörður eystri recreation area. A mellow climb turns into a tough alpine switchback after the halfway point, bringing you to the top of the Húsavíkurheiði mountain pass. From there, it is possible to continue down towards the deserted inlet Húsavík.
