Like most of the shrub and forest of the south of France, Les Alpilles closes for fire danger in the summer.

Need to Know

Garrigue vegetation can be spiny and sharp. You may wish to wear protective clothing.

There is an easier way down, the Mont Gaussier: West Side Alternative.

Description

After an easy start and a short ascent, the trail descends steeply amidst charred pines. A scree section spices things up, then the path ends quietly.
