Description

This is a great multi-use trail. It is a gravel track with some creek crossings. The Buffalo Trace (Indiana's first super-highway circa 1800) passes along this trail and is visible at times. A couple of old spring houses can still be seen, and a small cavern is found just off trail a short distance.

In recent years a beaver has dammed up French Lick Creek, which has caused the normally shallow creek crossing to widen and deepen.

Started at the parking area near the dam & rode the entire trail, including the out & back trail to the trailhead off of CR 550 South. Nice trails! — 12h 30m

5.4 mile gravel multi purpose loop around lake, mix of double and singletrack. Some steep winding hills followed by long rolling stretches.
