Must pay access fee during season; free access when closed to ATVs in winter.

Need to Know

Gated in the winter; Access fee (less than $5) required for all users when open to ATV use, must pay at the bottom entrance. All side trails in Wayehutta area are open for riding but are equally steep and not enjoyable.

Description

This has long been a classic descent to Cullowhee from Moses Creek FS Road #4651 to Locust Gap Connector #2a, Locust Gap #2, and Sawmill Bottoms #8. Unlike Moses Creek, it is steep and very rocky, climbable on a cross bike but suspension is better for coming down. There are other trails and alternative routes up and down.

Muddy, rocky, and noisy when ATVs are recreating.

If connecting to Moses, the 20-foot connector to the top of Moses must be walked - it is rideable but not designated for bikes by the USFS.
