Old road bed on USFS land, legal only for for hiking, biking, hunting. Permanent USFS gates at each end, no access by motor vehicles.

Description

Suggested only traveling toward Sam Queen Gap; steep rocky descents with several short, tough climbs. Full of stinging nettles during growing season. You can descend from Sam Queen Gap down Johns Creek on steep pavement all the way to Caney Fork Road, running shuttle or using pavement to complete a loop around US 107, US 281, and Charlies Creek Road to a left up Loggers Road back to Sugar Creek Gap.

Other loops involving more gravel include climbing Moses Creek to the Big Balds and walking your bike up the MTS Trail to the BRP and leaving the BRP at Bear Pen Gap to walk the MTS Trail to Wet Camp Gap and descending Sugar Creek Road back to the gap.
