“A remote backcountry singletrack with an excellent descent and beautiful scenery.”— Trevor.
This is an awesome section of trail, but it’s remote and either very strenuous or logistically challenging to ride. I see a few ways to ride it:
A loop in a day: Ride up FSR 312 or Bear River #171, down to Graham and Johnson campgrounds, and then take Horse Heaven Trail for its full length to FSR 327, and then FSR 384 back to the start of 312. Reverse would probably be good, too.
Bikepacking: The above loop would be a good two-day bikepacking loop, or you could make any number of other loops with the trails and roads in the region.
A shuttle: Get a ride to the top of the ridge on FSR 312, and get picked up on 327.
Out and back: Ride till you want to turn around. Ride down the saddle, or to the Johnson Creek CG and back up, or up to Swanholm Peak and back.
