Overview

The trail is very well maintained yet completely immersed in nature. You have a choice of a 3-, 8-, and 12-mile loop: DORBA Short Trail, DORBA Medium Trail and DORBA Long Trail.

Description

This counter-clockwise loop ride connects all three available trails (bearing right at all intersections) -- DORBA Long Trail, DORBA Short Trail and DORBA Medium Trail -- at Cedar Hill State Park for a 12-mile, natural-surfaced, multi-use mountain biking adventure, which can be repeated both running and hiking!

Overall, the trails are not difficult. However, they do have a few short, steep, and/or eroded sections. The loop runs along the edge of Joe Pool Lake. There are no facilities along the trails. Be sure to bring your own water and basic necessities!

There are benches along the loop so that you can take a break and enjoy the view of nature. You'll get a chance to experience cedar and hardwood forest and grasslands along the shore of the lake. Plus, this is an excellent place for bird watching!

Dallas Off-Road Bicycle Association (DORBA) maintains this trail and they are doing a great job. Route finding is very clear with signs and directions.
