“A nice mix of double/singletrack that takes you around the lake, up along the ridge, and ends in a fast-paced descent.”— Tom Wolfe
The creek crossings on the doubletrack section can be overgrown during the summer. After a few creek crossings and a lot of overgrowth, the trail ascends to the top of the ridge on an old fire road. At the top of the ridge, make an almost 180-degree turn to the left to stay on Mary Davis. There are other trails that fork off at this section, so be aware.
After following the ridge for a while, the trail starts a fast, rolling descent back down to intersect the Lost Trail near the trailhead.
