Overview

This is the largest known lap at Buffalo Creek with no repeats other than the 0.75 miles from the parking lot to the start of Nice Kitty.

Need to Know

For some people, this ride will require over 100 oz of hydration. Plan accordingly. There are places to get water from the creek along the way, but you'll need a filtration system.

Description

A mega-tour of the Buffalo Creek trail system. The ride does not include all the trails, but puts together as large of a loop as possible without repeating any trails.

The ride starts out with riding the access road (Road 543) out to the Nice Kitty trailhead. At the top of Kitty, go right on Buffalo Burn to the upper parking lot. Cross the lot and the road (Road 550) to the start of Little Scraggy Trail and follow it until it ends at the Colorado Trail Connector. Go right on the Colorado Trail until you get to the top of Shingle Mill Trail. Go left onto Shingle Mill. You'll cross 550 on your way to the access road (Road 543).

Go left on 543 for a couple of miles until you reach Tramway Trail 723. Take Tramway to the top where it meets up with the Colorado Trail Connector. Go right on the Connector until you reach the Green Mountain Trail. Take Green Mountain until it ends at the Colorado Trail Connector. Go left on the Connector. Not long after you cross 543, you'll go right on Redskin Creek Trail. Take it until it ends at a small parking lot.

From the lot, take Gashouse down until you reach the intersection with Baldy. Go up Baldy. At the end of Baldy at the 4-way intersection, go right on the Gashouse connector. Go right on Miller Gulch, then left on Strawberry Jack. Take Strawberry Jack all the way to the bottom and hang a hard left on Buck Gulch. Buck Gulch to the end at Road 552. Take a left there onto Skipper. At the end of Skipper, cross Strawberry Jack onto Homestead Trail.

Take Homestead Trail until it ends and continue on to Sandy Wash. Take Sandy Wash to the end at Road 543. Left on 543 back to the start at the lower parking lot.

Every section of this trail has something fun to play on. Don't like getting rowdy? There are also bypasses as well.
