“Enjoy the famed Snowmass Loop while on a supported and timed Fondo Ride!”
— Mike Pritchard
Race - Sep 29, 2018
See individual trails for winter seasonal closures.
Take in many of Snowmass' best trails on this supported Fondo version of the famed Snowmass Loop! This year's version includes recent additions to the trail system, including Seven Star Trail
and the new version of Village Bound
What's a Fondo? We'll be timing participants and giving awards to the few fastest folks. But this is not a race. Enjoy a course that is marked and includes aid station support. All trails remain open to the public, so expect others to be on the trail, and please yield appropriately while on course.
Why participate? Your $25 registration fee to RFMBA will be directed towards maintaining these local trails! Also, enjoy beer and a party after a great ride. Join us on Sat. Sept. 29th, 2018! (Rescheduled from original Aug. 18th date due to rain storm.) Rain date is Sunday Sept. 30th.
Need to Know
All trails are open to the public during this fondo ride. While we know many will ride fast up the climbs, and even faster on the descents, please be polite to everyone you encounter and yield when appropriate.
Please see the event Overview and study the course map. The event starts and finishes at the end of the Snowmass Village Mall near the Snowmass Ranger Station. We'll start out on Daily Lane, then Brush Creek Lane to Divide Road to hit the singletrack at the base of South Rim Trail
From here, the course is almost entirely singletrack including Rim Trail
, Seven Star Trail
, Ditchline Trail
, Viewline trail, Deadline Trail
, Highline trail
, Tom Blake
, West Government Trail
, Cross Mountain Trail
, Village Bound
, and finally finishing up back where you started, near the bottom of the Fanny Hill concert lawn.
